Gurdjieff brought psychological and cosmological understandings of the human situation.  We are invited to verify the psychological ideas for ourselves and to ponder our place in the cosmos aided by the cosmological ideas.

The psychological concepts concern our human ‘machines’ and invite us to observe our own thoughts, feelings and actions in order to know ourselves in a new, objective way. Through such practices, gradual transformation can take place.
